It looks as if the Hebrew Hammer and Ezzus are both officially fantasy experts worth listening to. Both have hit their mid-season stride and left their marks on week 9 with 2-1 records.
Ezzus maintained his two-win lead over his nemesis, and now stands at 13-14 for his fantasy picks. The Hebrew Hammer, on the other hand, went up to 11-16. The duo has gone a combined 8-4 on their fantasy picks over the last two weeks, and have refused to even make contact because of it.
Can the Hammer cut further into Ezzus’ lead this week? Or will Ezzus extend his lead and further damage the Hammer’s pride? Let’s find out.
Freaks/Cheeks: From the Mind of the 11-16 Hebrew Hammer:
Cheeks: Phillip Lindsay
Lindsay out-touched his counterpart Melvin Gordon for the first time this season in week 9. But he only managed to tally 2 fantasy points.
There simply aren’t enough touches to go around in the backfield for either back to be fantasy relevant. The Broncos play a piss-poor rush defense in the Raiders this week, but Lindsay’s floor AND ceiling is severely capped due to his lack of involvement in the passing game.
Freak: Chase Edmonds
Edmonds had his first start of the season last week and couldn’t take advantage of his 28 touches. He had almost as many carries as he had ALL SEASON.
If he continues to get volume like this, it’ll be hard to bench him against anybody. He plays the Bills’ defense this week in what could be a high-scoring contest. Expect to see Edmonds early and often.
Freak: Will Fuller V
This one is a gift from me to you. Every time I play against a receiver with a super high ceiling in fantasy, they drop a 40 piece on my ass without fail. Fuller is next in line, and will beat me while I’m down on Sunday.
Fuller plays against a shitty Cleveland secondary on Sunday, and should be primed for a huge effort. I don’t know what happened in week two, but ever since then, Fuller has found the endzone in each game. I don’t see a reason for that trend to not continue.
Freaks/Cheeks: From the Mind of the 13-14 Ezzus:
Cheeks: Antonio Brown
Matthew Berry is back at it again with the crack, I see. This man is projecting Antonio Brown to score 12 points. That’s insane.
AB has just gotten back on an NFL field after over a year, so it’s going to take some time to get in the swing of things. I doubt he gets anywhere close to 12 points.
I feel like Tompa Brady has way too many mouths to feed, especially with Godwin and Evans’s health. It will be hard for AB to get consistent work this early on. I’d wait a few more weeks before I start throwing him in my lineup.
Freak: Marquise Brown
Last week, the Patriots defense let Breshard Perriman put up a 5-101-2 stat line. This man is hot trash and they made him look like Julio Jones.
With Stephon Gilmore still likely out, this gives Brown a huge opportunity to put up huge numbers. I could see similar numbers as Perriman, minus a touchdown. Brown will definitely score more than 11 points. He’s a must start this week.
Cheeks: Nick Chubb
ESPN expects Chubb to score 14 points coming off of an injury. That’s not going to happen.
Kareem Hunt has taken the lead back role and is not giving it up. I think Chubb gets a lighter workload this week and should not start for anyone.
I can’t see him rushing more than 10 times. If he doesn’t, he’s not scoring 14 points. I would wait a week and see what his new role is.
