Jalen Hurts Isn’t Starting This Year

Philadelphia Eagles fans know there are Carson Wentz lovers and Wentz haters. The Wentz lovers live and die by Carson Wentz’s starter role. Wentz haters discredit everything he does and are always ready for the next man to take over the starting job.

Personally, I’m somewhere in the middle of the pack. Wentz has done some amazing things for this team and must stay on the field to prove the haters wrong.

The Eagles selected Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts with the 53rd overall pick of the 2020 draft. As soon as the Eagles made the pick, Wentz haters were already calling for him to start.

Those people are stupid as fuck. Wentz had a historic season in 2019. He became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw 20 or more touchdowns and seven or fewer interceptions in three straight seasons. Wentz also set the team’s single-season records for completions (388) and passing yards (4,039).

He became the first Eagles quarterback to throw at least one touchdown pass in each of the team’s 16 regular-season games. You want to know what the best part of all this is? Wentz set all of those records while becoming the first NFL player to throw for over 4000 yds without a WR with 500 receiving yards.

Jalen Hurts has been getting a ton of camp hype because, honestly, he has looked very good.

However, for the people calling for a rookie to take over for Wentz, chill the fuck out. Be happy for our quality QB room. It is a position on this team we should not have to worry about for years to come. Hurts will be a great backup to Wentz. He can be an above average insurance policy in case Wentz gets hurt. So sit back, relax and watch the Eagles fly.
