The conspiracy Youtubers have flooded the internet with a jaw dropping conspiracy: apparently the New Orleans Pelicans are trying to sabotage the NBA’s attempt at securing a playoff spot for their very own Zion Williamson.
The NBA reset was allegedly an idea Adam Silver formed, to not only get the NBA back, but to get its young star Zion Williamson into the playoffs. However, the Pelicans are doing everything in their power to make sure they don’t get in. It seems as if they think if you get in the playoffs, you also contract the ‘rona.
With only eight games in the league’s restart, the Pelicans have to go on a run to make the postseason. The first game against the Utah Jazz was entertaining. A close game throughout but one thing was missing and it was Williamson. He only played 15 minutes and scored 13 points.
Play the man longer. He wasn’t put in late when the team needed a spark. He wasn’t even playing bad; Williamson made 6 shots on only eight tries. They clearly could have used that late.
He easily could have played 20-25 minutes and been the difference maker. Why draft a guy first overall if he’s just going to watch you lose?
The Pelicans did not help themselves against the Los Angeles Clippers with Zion’s lack of playing time. Williamson was again on minute restrictions, a trend that they plan to execute for the “next few games.” So naturally Williamson only played 14 minutes and scored 7 points.
New Orleans wasn’t in the game in the 4th quarter. Williamson should have been given more minutes. Let his body get used to playing in four quarters again. Why waste the time when you know you need him to win? Let him get situated so that he can play more down the stretch and secure a playoff spot. Doing this will give him playoff experience that can only further his development.
The third game back against the Memphis Grizzlies for the Pelicans was a must win game. Memphis is the current 8th seed at the time of publication and the best move for New Orleans is to jump the team. A win against the Grizzlies would bring the Pelicans closer to that goal.
Williamson played significantly more minutes, logging 25 minutes compared to the 15 he was getting. That’s all the Pelicans needed to beat the Grizzlies. Williamson played well, scoring 23 points, 5 assists and 7 rebounds. Clearly Zion is the piece New Orleans needs to succeed. The Pelicans need him to win and this game showed they can not hold him back anymore. It’s time to release the beast.
New Orleans is hindering Williamson’s growth by not letting him play valuable minutes in these restart games. He missed the majority of the year and has only played a handful of games. His season was basically lost and if they continue to reduce his minutes, they should just send him home and let him rest. If he continues to play more minutes, the playoffs are inevitable. If they keep messing with the minutes, they will be out of the bubble with no playoff experience for the young guys.
Now the real conspiracy is David Griffin knows I have money on the Pelicans making the playoffs and wants me to lose at all cost. I don’t know why it just makes sense, there is no other explanation as to why you wouldn’t play your star rookie who you drafted first overall.
ALL LUV David
