It is no surprise when I say the Philadelphia Eagles have not lived up to their preseason hype. Heading into week 13 the Eagles record is 3-7-1, and they currently sit in 3rd place in the NFC Least.  Although they are only 1 game out of the division lead, the Eagles probably would not get too far in the playoffs with the way they have been playing this year. One thing is even more clear – it is time to hold general manager Howie Roseman accountable for the current state of the team.

The Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL this season. From Carson Wentz’s subpar play o to the lack of offensive talent on the roster and the absence of creativity in the play calling, the Eagles look lost. To put it lightly, it has been hard to watch.

Now, the fans want someone thrown to the wolves. Carson Wentz, Doug Pederson, Jim Schwartz and Howie Roseman all deserve a part of the blame. But, the biggest culprit is Roseman.

Howie Roseman is responsible for financially screwing the Eagles for the next 2 seasons and beyond, along with drafting bums against the wishes of the Philadelphia Eagles scout team. But it’s not just one time either. It has been multiple times over the past 5 years.

One of the biggest misses in the draft was Roseman taking JJ-Arcega Whiteside over DK Metcalf. Metcalf currently leads the league in receiving yards and is already considered a top receiver in the NFL. The sad thing is this is not the only time that Howie missed horribly. You have a scout team for a reason Howie, wouldn’t it be wise to take their advice?

The draft day mistakes continued in the 2020 draft. Howie went against the advice of the Eagles scout team and drafted Jalen Reagor at 21 overall, ahead of Justin Jefferson. In the 2nd round, the Eagles selected Jalen Hurts at pick 53 over Jeremy Chinn, who was the best player on the Eagles’ draft board. Both Jefferson and Chinn are being considered for Rookie of the Year. Reagor, however has been injured for most of the season. Hurts has caused rifts between fans wanting him to start over Wentz.

Howie Roseman has been consistently terrible at evaluating talent in the draft. Over the past 5 draft classes that Howie has been a part of, only Carson Wentz has made it to the Pro Bowl.

Yes, he deserves credit for the 2017 Super Bowl Championship, but his choices have led to team’s demise. It was Roseman who fully guaranteed receiver Alshon Jeffery’s 2020 salary when there was no reason to. He traded a 4th-round pick for Genard Avery, a guy who never even sees the field. Roseman decided not to acquire receivers DeAndre Hopkins, Stefon Diggs, Will Fuller or Robby Anderson when all were available. They all could have had a huge impact on the Eagles and the development of Wentz. He completely neglected the linebacker position. He gave free-agent defensive tackle Javon Hargrave a 3-year, $39 million contract instead of spending the money on other positions of need. Roseman brought back the aging, injury-riddled Jason Peters and DeSean Jackson. He put the team in a salary cap nightmare; Spotrac projects the Eagles to be $60 million over the cap in 2021. Should I continue?

It’s easy to point fingers and blame anyone on the Philadelphia Eagles for the lack of success this year, but Howie Roseman’s track record shows that the should fire him. Howie Roseman, you are the weakest link. GOODBYE!
